Tysoe Windmill Run

Cotswolds Classic

Photo opps aplenty at this Cotswolds beauty...

Race day photo opportunities don't get much better than those on offer at the Tysoe Windmill Run with the stunning windmill as a backdrop, not to mention the renowned Cotswold countryside. The race will take place on 1 June this year with runners setting off from the pretty village of Tysoe.

The 10K race features a scenic, off-road course that takes competitors up Tysoe’s Windmill Hill (one of the higher peaks in South Warwickshire) as well as a further climb through Compton Wynyates Estate. Organisers comment: "If the hills don’t take your breathe away, the picturesque scenery will!

"You'll be taken through wood copses, across lush fields, past grazing sheep and deer, and up yet more hills, this is a true 10K challenge in a stunning landscape."

5K runners ascend Windmill Hill only where they can reach the summit, take in the marvellous views before jogging, bounding or rolling back down again!

The course is a mixture of fields, hills, woods and gates including the 180m high Tysoe Windmill which was built in the 18th century. This impressive structure occupies a commanding position between Tysoe and Compton Wynyates and is the highlight of this event.

The prizes are collector’s items with their striking windmill design. There are handmade ceramic mugs for the first male and female in the 10K, 5K and 5K Walk with bespoke ceramic coasters for runners up and age group winners. Every finisher receives a ceramic medal with a rainbow ribbon.
