Rollercoaster at Alton Towers Resort

Run then ride at new Alton Towers 10K & Half Marathon

Early bird entries open for this new race at the world famous theme park

The home of the Nemesis, Oblivion, Galactica and Wicker Man rides, Alton Towers Resort will see a different type of thrill seeker this autumn at a new running event. Run Alton Towers 10K & Half Marathon on Sunday 14 November is an opportunity to race around the UK’s biggest theme park then complete the day by riding a roller coaster or several.

As the situation with Covid-19 continues to improve and the future seems a little brighter, runners will be keen to race again and at this race, they will literally, lap up the course and venue as they push for a PB once again. Organisers RunThrough are aiming for this event to become a regular fixture in the autumn calendar and a ‘must do’ for any runner irrespective of their ability.

New and experienced runners alike complete a single lap for the 10K or two laps for the half marathon with both distances starting and finishing next to the historical Towers. They pass several iconic rides, the gardens and around the boating lake on this signed and scenic course and have the place to themselves as the theme park will be closed to the public.

Every finisher receives a bespoke medal, RunThrough Kit technical T-shirt, goody bag, bottle of water from ACTIPH, KIND bars and official photos.

The entry fee includes free access to the Alton Towers Resort, free use of the rides of which there are 40 to try and free car parking.

Register for this new event at the Run Alton Towers website.
