It's Linlith– GO for 2022 10K
Capacity increased for next September’s event
Entries have just opened for one of the fastest-selling 10K races in the Central Belt, the Linlithgow 10K.
Participants don’t need to be quick to take part in the event, but they do need to be quick to grab a place.
Less than 24 hours after the 2021 event opened for entries, over 80% of the 500 available race places initially available were sold.
Capacity for the 2022 event, which will be held on Sunday, 25 September, has been increased to 1000. A waiting list will also be in operation should that limit be reached.
Organised, as always, by Linlithgow Athletic Club, the 2022 Linlithgow 10K will be the 29th edition of the popular community event. In past years, around 40% of the event’s participants have come from the local area.
As is tradition, the race will start at the Cross on Linlithgow High Street and finish in the historic Linlithgow Palace Peel area.
Information about the junior fun run, traditionally held as part of the event, is not yet available.
Following the success of their introduction at this year’s race, participants in the 2022 event will again be able to make use of the service of pacers to help them make their way round the ‘undulating’ and ‘quite challenging’ route. Target finish times for the pacers will range from 40 to 65 minutes. For logistical reasons, the course time limit remains at 100 minutes, after which point the route and finish area will be dismantled.
Funds raised at the not-for-profit event support the work Linlithgow Athletic Club does in promoting and providing opportunities for athletics in their local community.
Results from previous editons of the Linlithgow 10K are available from runABC Scotland.
