New Running Festival For Derbyshire
Nice Work have done a nice job with their latest running festival offering...
The inaugural Carsington Festival of Running promises to deliver 'a slice of racing heaven', and with a bill like that who can resist? Set to take place in the Derbyshire countryside on 24 February 2024, this 'magical festival of running' is a new race offering at Carsington Water with something for everyone.
Those taking part can choose from a Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K or 5K distance and enjoy an opportunity to race a traffic-free, lakeside trail with superb views across the water and surrounding peaks at Carsington. Organisers say: "It's stunningly beautiful and not to be missed!"
Organised by Nice Work, this event is brought to you by the same team that crafts and delivers the Tissington Trail Half Marathon, which regularly features in lists of leading UK trail races. They say: "Prepare to be spellbound by every step of this incredible racing gem."
The course is an undulating, muli-terrain route with a few inclines and some super downhill sections. Those taking part can expect mostly hard track and, if the weather has been particularly wet in the days leading up to race day, then you can expect mud! Speaking of the course, organisers comment: "Whilst the course has been measured using GPS, it cannot carry a certificate of course accuracy due to its multiterrain nature. But, it's still a corker of a race!"
There are bespoke medals for all finishers and trophies for first, second and thirs male and female (in all distances) . There will also be certificates and £5 Nice Work vouchers for leading age category winners (Marathon, Half Marathon & 10k only).
