Remember, Remember The Guy Fawkes 5
Take off like a rocket at this popular 5 mile road race...
Tewkesbury Running Club's popular 5 mile run returns with a bang this year, promising a flat, fast course, generous prize list and free cake afterwards. The Guy Fawkes 5 is usually a sell-out event so this year organisers are releasing places in batches with two more chances to bag a spot - this Wednesday (6th) at 6am and Sunday (10th) at midday.
This year's race will take place on Sunday 5 November where a keen field of runners will be pushing the pace for individual and team glory. The race boasts a flat course with just two bridges to cross, runners will enjoy a route through country lanes with very little traffic.
Will McKemey won in 25:58 and first female was Gemma Collier in 29:45. You can check out all previous results via runABC's race listing page.
Race HQ is Tewkesbury School just off M5 Junction 9. Pre and post race there will be everything you need including Gloucester Sports, changing rooms, toilets, First Aid, helpers, even bag storage. Organisers say: "This year we are pleased to have Orchard Catering back with us offering refreshments and nourishments - a very local catering service operated by a former Tewkesbury club member!"
And finally...Tewkesbury Running Club chooses a local cause to support each year with Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) its nominated charity for 2023.
