New Trail Element To Crieff 10K
There's a new-look course to explore at this year's Crieff 10K...
The Crieff 10K returns on 12 July with a fresh new route and the added prestige of hosting the Scottish Athletics National Mid Trail Championships for under-20s and seniors. Organised by Strathearn Harriers, the popular event is widely regarded as one of the most scenic races in Scotland.
This year’s edition introduces a new section of trail, incorporating paths from Turret Burn to enhance an already impressive course.
The race starts and finishes at Morrison’s Academy Sports Ground at Dallerie, with runners heading out over Laggan Hill, passing the Baird Monument before returning along the banks of the River Earn via the ever-popular Lady Mary’s Walk. With around 220 metres of ascent, the course offers a rewarding test across varied terrain while showcasing the natural beauty of the Crieff area.
Strathearn Harriers have once again secured access to the excellent facilities at Morrison’s Academy, and runners can look forward to a warm welcome at the finish, including refreshments and home baking. Each finisher will also receive a memento, adding to the event’s reputation for being both friendly and great value.
Alongside the main event, there are opportunities for younger athletes to get involved. The Crieff Junior Mile offers a fun and accessible race for under-13s on the Morrison’s Academy playing fields, while the Junior 5K Trail Race provides a more challenging multi-terrain option for under-14 to under-17 runners, following a scenic route over Laggan Hill and back along Lady Mary’s Walk.
