Cambridge Club Dominates

Flat out in Cambridge as 14,000+ finish the half marathon...

Athletes from Cambridge and Coleridge Athletic Club dominated the Cambridge Half Marathon, headlined by the new sponsors – technology company TTP – on Sunday, 8th March 2026.

The proud local club provided the individual women's winner and a clean sweep of the podium places in the men's race – the 15th year of welcoming runners from near and far to race 13.1 miles through the historic university city's streets on a beautiful traffic-free route.

Among those who went the extra mile to compete was former Ely resident Linda Breen, who flew in from her current home in Jersey to finish 13,922nd in 3:06:48, with 171 more runners still to cross the finish line on Midsummer Common!

The Cambridge course is a cracker as it meanders alongside and across the famous River Cam, goes off-road through the university grounds, and into open countryside at Grantchester and Trumpington.

Several changes were made to the event this year in response to runner feedback. After running out of water in hot conditions in 2025, a fifth water station was introduced at mile 12, selected stations had High 5 Zero electrolyte drink, and post-finish hydration was also improved.

The most noticeable change was the return to four start gates, which enabled a smoother start and reduced congestion, particularly in the early stages. Women’s-only toilets and free sanitary product provision also returned following strong positive feedback from athletes last year.

The top three from the Cambridge club were James Teagle (1:04:15), Dominic Jones (1:04:21) and Jonathan Phillips (1:04:30). The first visitor to finish was Dillon Hobbs (Tunbridge Wells Hariers, 1:05:40). Peter Molloy (Western Tempo, 1:05:49) was also under 66 minutes.

Cambridge & Coleridge's Holly Archer – runner-up last year – took the women's title in 1:12:20 from Charlie Arnell (Exeter Harriers, 1:13:30) and Serena Carter (Thames Hare & Hounds, 1:15:36).

Over the 15 years of the Cambridge Half Marathon, nearly 100,000 runners have competed, and over £3 million has been raised for charity.
