Brodie Castle Makes For A Braw Race

It's a fairytale setting for this November 10K...

If you like your races to come with a fairytale setting then you can't go wrong with Forres Harriers Brodie Castle 10K, which is back for 2022 after an enforced absence. Scheduled for 6 November, the event will take in the some of the gentle Moray countryside that surrounds the rose-coloured Brodie Castle, ancestral home of the Brodie clan for over 400 years.

Formerly known as the Dyke 10K, the race will follow much of the same route but will now start and finish in the spectacular grounds of the 16th century Brodie Castle, a National Trust for Scotland property. A traffic free start to the race will follow and the first kilometre or so will be on the estate road. Runners will enter the grounds of the castle in the last mile and race towards the finish in front of the castle presenting a fantastic photo opportunity for everyone!

Speaking about the new course, an organiser said: "We don't think that there are many events in the country that offer the runner a better view as they race towards a race finish line - a tree lined route to a picturesque castle in lovely grounds."

The race is proving popular with entrants already. Entries opened at midnight on 4 August, with organisers commenting soon after: "Wow, somebody was keen to enter! Entries opened at midnight and the first two entries were in four minutes later!"

Organisers are also keen to thank the National Trust for Scotland for their support in promoting and hosting this event with them. Why not visit the castle over the spring and summer or try one of their events before you come along on race day? Visit the National Trust website for details and more information.
