The Great Scottish Christmas Festival

Christmas In The Park

Celebrate 10 years of Edinburgh's 'premier Christmas running event'...

Bring your family, friends and workmates and enjoy what has been described as Edinburgh's Premier Christmas running event. With a 5K, 10K and Junior Christmas 1500 Fun Run on offer, there's something for all to enjoy at the Great Scottish Christmas Festival. The race action will take place on 1 December and is a fantastic way to kick-start your festive celebrations in 2024.

The popular festive event will once again take place in a 'cold and crisp' Inverleith Park where those taking part can run (or walk) the fast and flat 10K and 5K routes. The Junior Christmas 1500 Fun Run is the perfect way to get your little ones to burn off the excitement of Christmas and a wonderful activity for the whole family to enjoy together.

Organisers, Great Scottish Events, have been running sporting events, challenges and community events since 1968. Founder Terry will celebrate his 82nd birthday this year, a spokesperson from the event said: "Join Terry on 1 December and help celebrate the Christmas Run's 20th Anniversary and Terry’s 82nd year when he will be participating in this year’s Christmas 5K.

"To add to the fun, festive fancy dress is strongly encouraged as it sets a great atmosphere!"

If you enter before 31 October you will benefit from early bird pricing, and will also be included in a Christmas Hamper draw. Everyone taking part will receive a unique finishers' medal and for those at the front of the pack there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd special prizes for the 5K and 10K runs as well as the fun run.
