Still Time For Cumbernauld 10K

If you're looking for a family-friendly 10K in the Central Belt then this is the one for you...

Looking for a family-friendly autumn 10K in the Central Belt? The Cumbernauld 10K will see runners descend on the town's Broadwood Stadium this September (15th) and there's still time for you to be a part of the race action.

Organised by Active & Creative Communities in North Lanarkshire Council, the Cumbernauld 10K has broad appeal with competitive runners and newcomers to the distance all toeing the line on race day. There are also races for children, so it's a fantastic day out for the entire family.

If you're wondering what distances are on offer besides the 10K then let us enlighten you... there's a Toddler Dash for those aged 3-5, a 400m Dash for Primary 1-4, a 1K Race for Primary 5-7 and a 3K timed race for those in S1-S4. Not only that, organisers told us: "We are also delighted to offer a Victory Mile Walk event in partnership with our registered charity, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland."

Throughout the day there will be a range of free fun activities, including bouncy castles and 'come and try sport' activities for all the family to enjoy. Previous participant, KP Murray, commented on Facebook: "Signing up end of the month. Did this race a few years ago, it's a great day and course."

And remember, if you are a North Lanarkshire Council jogscotland member you will be entitled to a 50% discount code which can be accessed by emailing Stuart Smith on smithst@northlan.gov.uk.
