Scotland’s Fastest 10K Is Back!
Stirling's fast and scenic 10K race returns with a perfect early autumn date...
Get ready to lace up and race through history as the Podfather Stirling 10K returns for its 24th edition on 7 September. Organised by Central AC, this much-loved event promises fast times, fantastic scenery and a buzzing atmosphere, making it one of Scotland’s premier road races.
Runners will take on the super-fast course that winds past some of Stirling’s most iconic landmarks, including Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and the Ochil Hills. It’s a route designed for speed, with countless personal bests achieved year after year. But don’t be fooled into thinking this race is only for the elite - whether you’re chasing a 30-minute finish or aiming for 1 hour 30, every runner gets the same rousing support.
After a record-breaking sell-out event in 2024, organisers are bringing back all the features that made last year so special. Runners can look forward to official pacers targeting 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60-minute finishes, a piper at the Wallace Monument, a cheerleading squad at key points and music on the course to keep the energy high. There’s even a free pre-and post-race massage at the start/finish area.
With a prize pot of over £2,000, there’s plenty to race for. The top five male and female finishers will take home cash prizes, with £250 awarded to the winners. A course record bonus of £250 is also up for grabs, with the current records standing at 28:53 and 33:09.
The Podfather Stirling 10K isn’t just for the grown-ups - two fun runs ensure younger runners can get in on the action. The 2K Fun Run for ages 5-9 follows an out-and-back route along the 10K course, turning at the 1K mark to return to the finish. The 3.5K Fun Run for ages 10-14 extends the course slightly, taking runners along Forthside Way before looping back via the river path. Both fun run finishers will receive goody bags and there will be bouncy castles and face painting at the event village to keep younger participants entertained.
