Something for Every Generation at Kelvingrove Park
Kelvingrove Park welcomes runners of all ages this September, with 5K and 10K races joined by a 2K Kids Race and Toddler Dash....
This relates to: Kelvingrove Park 5K & 10K September
Race morning isn't just for the grown-ups when the Kelvingrove Park 5K and 10K returns to Glasgow's West End on Sunday 13 September, bringing together runners of different ages and abilities in one of the city's best-known green spaces.
Organised by Up and Running Events, the programme combines chip-timed 5K and 10K races with a 2K Kids Race and Toddler Dash. That range gives experienced runners, newcomers and younger family members the opportunity to be involved in the same morning of running.
At the heart of the event is a 2.5K course through Kelvingrove Park. The 5K covers two laps and the 10K four, creating a format where runners repeatedly return through the main event area rather than disappearing onto a long single circuit.
For those chasing a time, chip timing, kilometre markers and a fully marked and marshalled course provide the essentials. The shorter children's events give the morning a different dimension, particularly for families where running is becoming a shared interest rather than something one person heads off to do alone.
Kelvingrove Park is already a familiar destination for Glasgow runners, but organised racing brings a different atmosphere to its paths. With distances stretching from a Toddler Dash through to 10K, September's event provides plenty of ways to join in.
And for some of the youngest runners collecting their medal, those first few metres through Kelvingrove Park might just be the beginning of a much longer running journey.
Entries for the September event are still available via the runABC race hub here.
