The Midway Run
At this autumn event you can expect 9 miles of single track trails, fields, forestry and fun...
Shropshire's Runningmonk Trail Events has another new event for runners this autumn, and this one has mass appeal with a 9 mile distance that offers runners something between a 10K and a half marathon. The Runningmonk Midway Trail is the result of local runners' requests, organisers say: "We have had so many conversations with runners looking for an event that was in between a 10K and half marathon, so we've listened, and the result is our new 9-ish mile run that will take runners along sections of the Shropshire Way and more!"
Set to take place on 24 November from Church Barn in Bishop's Castle, the trail race will take in sections of the Shropshire Way, Kerry Ridgeway and Offa's Dyke, and will have runners winding down single tracks, forestry and through beautiful local footpaths.
Coming in at around 1700ft of elevation, the route will have a few challenges along the way, but with no cut off time, there is no pressure, meaning you can run at your own pace, taking in all the scenery as you go. There will be a finisher's medal and yummy doughnut to refuel with when you cross that finish line.
Speaking about their ethos, a Runningmonk spokesperson said: "We truly believe that running is for everyone and with that in mind, this event is suitable for runners of all ages and abilities, from novices to experienced athletes and is perfect for those new to running, so why not lace up your trainers ang give it a try?
"We have a true passion for running here at Runningmonk Trail Events, and want to make our events as inclusive and open as possible. We care about all of our runners and believe that running is for everyone."
