With two Midlands cities hosting popular 10Ks on back to back weekends, March 2026 promises a strong start to the spring road racing season...
Runners in the Midlands have a couple of excellent 10K options to choose from next spring, with two popular city centre races set to welcome runners over consecutive weekends in early March.
The Leicester 10K returns on 1 March and remains one of the region’s biggest and most popular charity road runs. Open to runners of all abilities and ages, the event welcomes those chasing a personal goal as well as participants fundraising for causes close to their hearts.
The race starts and finishes in the city centre at Jubilee Square before heading through central Leicester and into the green surroundings of Victoria Park. From there, the route weaves past the University of Leicester and several of the city’s best known landmarks, including Leicester Museum and Art Gallery and Leicester Cathedral before returning to Jubilee Square for an atmospheric finish. Thanks to its scenic route and city centre setting, the Leicester 10K continues to be a highlight of the Midlands running calendar.
One week later, on 8 March, attention turns to the Nottingham 10K, a long established favourite in the city. The race begins in Old Market Square and follows a varied course through the north of the city, heading along Mansfield Road before reaching Nottingham Girls’ High School. Runners then continue along Forest Road East and past Church Rock Cemetery before turning back towards the city centre.
The route passes the Motorpoint Arena and loops through Nottingham’s Park Estate before finishing inside the historic grounds of Nottingham Castle. As with Leicester, the event is open to runners of all ages and abilities and is delivered by Run For All, who can be counted on for a well-organised and memorable race day experience.
