Kyles 10 Miles set for September
‘Rolling hills and beautiful beaches’ await runners at Argyll race
Entries have just opened for a 10-mile autumn road race with what organisers call ‘unrivalled’ scenery along Argyll’s ‘Secret Coast’
The Kyles 10 Miles will take place on Saturday, 10 September, starting from the village of Tighnabruaich, and winding its way around the Ardlamont peninsula. Organisers Tighnabruaich District Development Trust call the natural circular course on a secluded coastal route ‘a gem once uncovered never forgotten’.
In addition to a few challenging hills scattered through the first five miles, runners will be able to enjoy stunning views of the Mull of Kintyre, Arran and Bute. The route flattens out on the way home, back along the coastal road to Kames.
Entries to the event are strictly limited to 500 and are expected to sell out. The post-race ceilidh and evening buffet, as well as the 100-place 10-mile walk, are already full with deferrals from the postponed 2020 event. Although ceilidh places are determined by the local council, more walkers’ places may become available later in the year.
The last Kyles 10 Miles – the 10th anniversary event as it happens – was held in 2019. Jack Arnold took the win (55.04), followed by Craig Lamont (59.27) and Wesley Pattinson (100.51). First lady home was Kate Macarthur (1.09.22).
Full results for previous editions of the race are available from runABC Scotland.
