This relates to: Dalbeattie 10K

The Dalbeattie 10K returns on Tuesday 4 August 2026, bringing runners together for a popular summer evening road race through the rolling countryside of Dumfries and Galloway.

Starting on Haugh Road beside Dalbeattie Learning Campus, the officially measured and certified 10K heads towards Netheryett before returning to the finish in Dalbeattie. The route combines peaceful rural roads, attractive countryside views and several challenging climbs, creating a rewarding race for runners looking to test themselves over the classic distance.

Held under Scottish Athletics rules, the event offers excellent value with chip timing, kilometre markers, first aid cover, water on the course, a finisher's medal and prizes for the leading male and female runners as well as age category winners. Parking and toilet facilities are available close to race headquarters to help ensure a smooth race day experience.

The race is organised by Dalbeattie Running Club, whose volunteers provide the friendly atmosphere that has helped make the event a favourite on the south west Scotland running calendar. After crossing the finish line, runners can enjoy tea, coffee and homemade cakes in the church hall, giving participants the chance to relax and catch up after the race.

Although the route includes a number of testing climbs, they are balanced by enjoyable flowing sections and beautiful views across the surrounding countryside. It is a course that rewards sensible pacing and determination, making the finish all the more satisfying.

Whether you're chasing a personal best, building towards an autumn race or simply looking for an enjoyable evening of running in a welcoming community, the Dalbeattie 10K offers a memorable blend of challenge, scenery and Scottish hospitality.
