Inflatable 5k

Inflatable 5k family fun comes to Granite City

Light-hearted event will put a spring in everyone’s step

Aberdeen is set to host the next Scottish edition of the Inflatable 5K from 9am–2pm this Saturday, 30 October.

Organisers UK Running Events have made it their mission to encourage more people to get out and run, and have packed their 2021 tour with ‘new, bigger and crazier obstacles’ to help make it happen.

Runners who take on the 5K inflatable course at Aberdeen’s P&J Live will tackle 27 gigantic obstacles – including the ominously named Temple of Doom, The Mangle and The Boss. Organisers warn that participants should look out for the newest obstacle, The Demon, which they will encounter twice.

Despite the massive size of the obstacles, next Saturday’s event will be suitable for participants of all abilities, with families and children actively encouraged to take part. As the huge obstacles will be placed inside Scotland’s brand new, state-of-the-art events venue, the Inflatable 5K will make for guaranteed weather and wind proof family fun on the last weekend of the local school holidays.

If they dare, runners can complete up to six laps of the 2.5K long course, making for 15K of inflatable fun. If 5K sounds like too much, they can complete just one 2.5K-long lap.

All finishers will be rewarded with a high-quality medal, a pair of running socks, a neck buff and other finish-line goodies.

The next Scottish stop on the Inflatable 5K’s tour won’t be until next summer, when the event will return to Strathclyde Country Park in Motherwell, from 9am–2pm on Saturday, 2 July 2022.
