Trail Finders Head To The Lakes

We find out more about the Lake District's spring time trail festival...

It’s just seven months until Trail Pursuit’s Lake District trail running festival takes place (20-22 May 2022) in Seathwaite, a stunning location just off the southern end of the Borrowdale Valley, south of Keswick. Now's the time to think ahead and sign up for a weekend of trail running fun and so much more besides.

Nestled in the depths of a valley, the remote spot chosen by event organisers is the ideal playground for a trail race festival as it boasts direct access to the fells and is surrounded by idyllic countryside with lakes on hand for a refreshing post race dip.

It’s a festival that caters for everyone with a mountain marathon, trail half, 10K, 5K all on offer as well as a kids 1 mile event. Organisers stress that… “All levels are welcome! From trail 5Ks to marathon, and even a mini runners 1 mile race, Trail Pursuit welcomes all levels of runner, and most importantly, anyone with a passion for the outdoors.”

But don’t forget the extra activities that make this more than just a running weekend. Across the two days you can enjoy guided yoga and breathwork classes to help you relax and unwind. There will also be inspiring athlete speakers discussing a variety of topics ranging from nutrition and fuelling and epic challenges as well as diversity and inclusion in sports.

And what's a festival without adventure movies and popcorn? Not to mention workshops, live music and festival vibes, all whilst sleeping a stone’s throw from the start line where you can enjoy time being at one with nature whether you camp or ‘glamp’!

A spokesperson at Trail Pursuit said: “We believe in equality, adventure and celebrating each other! Kick back and enjoy the festival atmosphere and be proud of what you've just achieved.

There will be live music, an events village with a range of vendors, delicious food & drink & so much more!”
