History, scenery and .... beer come together at the Hop Run

Brought to you by the combined enthusiasm and expertise of Stewart Brewing and Durty Events, and in association with Rosslyn Chapel, the Hop Run is guaranteed to be a fun day out.

A 10K trail run with an important twist – a finish line at the Stewart Brewing HQ – the new event will be held on Saturday, 8 June.

After meeting at the Stewart Brewing HQ in Loanhead, runners will be taken by coach to the historic Rosslyn Chapel (heavily featured in the Da Vinci Code book and film) to start their 10K (ish) trail run through the beautiful valley of the North Esk River.

Once on their way, runners will pass tumbling waterfalls, still river pools, quiet natural forests and atmospheric ruins of the area’s surprising industrial past, before emerging at Stewart Brewing HQ to celebrate their achievement.

The route is fully marshalled and the event itself chip timed.

In addition to a free beer token – the first beer’s on the organisers – runners will also receive a branded bottle opener as a memento and a custom event T-shirt guaranteed to make them the envy of all their friends. Live music, food and good times also await everyone at the finish.

Organisers of the Hop Run are keen to stress that under 18s are welcome at Stewart Brewing HQ when accompanied by an adult until 8pm, but the race itself is for over 18s only.

Entries are limited to 400 and close on 31 May.

Registration starts at 10am, but runners must choose one of three bus ‘wave’ times – 1200, 1245 or 1330 – when entering.
