Flying Start At Balmoral
The Deeside event is promising to get runners off to a flying start next month...
Runners in the Stena Drilling 10K at this year's RunBalmoral will be set off in a unique way - with a Bristow helicopter fly-past! The dramatic start to the race has been made possible by Bristow's involvement in the popular Deeside event which has once again attracted thousands of competitors and fun runners.
Bristow is sponsoring the 15 mile and 3 mile trail races which are being held on Sunday 23 April, but will, subject to operational requirements, send an aircraft to fly over the 10K start line on Saturday 22 April.
Organisers have commented: "It should be an amazing experience and is another exciting feature which makes Run Balmoral one of the country's top participation sporting attractions." While Kevin Watson had a cheeky request on Facebook: "Could they give me a lift to the top of ‘The Hill’ please?"
Another Bristow helicopter is to be on the ground at Balmoral over the entire weekend and runners, their families and friends will all be able to inspect the aircraft.
There's only a few days left before entries for Run Balmoral close, so if you want to join the select Devil of Deeside club and earn a much sought after Devil medal, then hurry up! There are still slots available in the MPH primary schools 1.5K, the NFU Mutual secondary schools 2.5K, the Stena Drilling 10K, the Apollo Duathlon and the Bristow 3 and 15 mile trail races. But be quick as 4 April is the absolute last day you can enter any of these races.
