It is a properly measured 5k run, starting near the statue of the Childe of Hale at Within Way and across the Hale seashore, concluding on the cricket pitch. It is open to serious runners and those who just want a bit (or a lot) of fun. Fancy dress is optional - the theme for this year is the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The run is open to all ages and there are trophies for the winner, first female, first infant (under 16) and first fancy dress. Every participant receives a medal and a goody bag.
It is a charitable non profit making event, with funds raised going to local much needed causes.
