Multisport May Festival
Head to Skipton for a multisport weekend, with something for runners, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales...
Trail runners of all ages will take centre stage at the 2026 Skipton Multisport Festival as a series of races around the town’s Aireville Park form a key part of the busy May Bank Holiday weekend. The festival will take place on 23 and 24 May and will be based at Skipton Leisure and Wellbeing Hub and the surrounding grounds of Aireville Park.
While the wider event includes triathlon and cycling activities, the running programme organised by Skipton AC is expected to draw strong interest from both junior and senior athletes. Set in the historic market town of Skipton, often described as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, the races will take place on scenic trails through the parkland and surrounding paths.
Organisers told us: "Aireville Park provides a picturesque setting for the event. Originally landscaped in the 1830s by Henry Allcock as part of the Aireville Estate, the area features tree lined grassy parkland and canal side paths which now form the basis of the race routes. Runners can expect a varied course with a mix of flat sections and some testing hills."
Junior runners will take centre stage on the morning of Saturday 23 May, with races for under 10, under 12, under 14 and under 16 age groups. The event aims to encourage young athletes to take part in running in a fun and supportive environment.
Later on Saturday an 8K trail race will be staged for senior runners as well as juniors aged 15 and over. The race will follow the park’s network of trails and green spaces, offering a scenic but challenging test for competitors.
