The Wyre Wine and Cheese Run is organised by PFW Running and follows a four mile trail route through Wyre Estuary Country Park near Thornton Cleveleys in Lancashire.
Starting and finishing beside the River Wyre, runners follow a flat trail path alongside the estuary to a turn point before retracing their steps to the finish. An aid station provides water as well as a small serving of red and white wine, giving this unusual evening trail race its distinctive character.
Every finisher receives a medal and a 187ml bottle of red or white wine, with a selection of cheese and crackers available to enjoy after the run. The event also provides free parking, toilets, medical cover and support from marshals around the course.
The race is restricted to runners aged 18 and over and is held under UK Athletics rules with a trail running licence.
