Flying along at the Flying Fox 10 mile race

Fly On Over For This Foxy 10 Miler

An ideal race for anyone looking to move up in distance.

Follow a loud Bonfire Night with a run on quiet country lanes at the Flying Fox 10 (Sunday 6 November), hosted by Stone Master Marathoners (Stone MM). There is no better way to spend a Sunday than at this well organised and marshalled race in the company of like minded others.

Ten mile races are few and far between and yet they are a stepping stone from a 10K to a Half Marathon; bridging the gap in a way that is manageable for many people.

The Flying Fox 10 is a bridge between the two distances whilst providing a challenge and, as it is an NSRRA race, there are points to compete for. There are prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female, age group winners and teams which will act as an incentive. There is also the course record of 53:35 to aim for which was set by Ben Gamble.

Starting at 10.30am from outside All Saints Primary School in Standon, participants in NSRRA Race 18 follow an undulating course consisting of one large loop and one small loop. A rural route in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside which looks at its best on a fine autumn morning – weather permitting!

Enjoy the tour of Standon and the surrounding area then sprint for the line to be rewarded with a memento – which has been a bottle of Flying Fox ale in previous years.

Entries have gone live for the Flying Fox 10 Mile but don’t hang around too long before signing up. You’d be batty to miss it...
