Dig Deep In Dronfield
Still time to be a part of this fantastic Derbyshire 10K...
Since 1993, Derbyshire's Dronfield 10K has drawn runners to Dronfield Woodhouse, just south of Sheffield. The well-organised and undulating two-lap road race is back for 2025, taking place on 27 April on partially closed roads, with fantastic support from marshals and spectators alike.
The scenic 10K route takes runners up Pentland Road to Carr Lane before looping twice around Leabrook Road, Gosforth Drive and the surrounding roads, finishing in Sindelfingen Park - where the lively event village will be buzzing with post-race celebrations, refreshments and entertainment for all the family.
The event also features a family-friendly 2K Fun Run, offering younger runners and beginners the chance to take part in a traffic-free challenge around the estate footpaths.
Race organisers are keeping up the tradition of their sought-after finishers’ technical T-shirts, teasing runners to guess the 2025 colour before the order goes in. “We know the majority love our vibrant finishers’ race T-shirts,” they say. “If you’ve not already entered and want to be the proud owner of a 2025 finishers’ top, now’s the time to sign up!”
With a history of fast times - course records stand at 31:37 for men (Jerry Hall, Swansea AC) and 35:04 for women (Debbie Robinson, Tipton Harriers) - and a welcoming atmosphere for runners of all levels, Dronfield 10K 2025 promises to be another fantastic edition.
Both races help raise vital funds for the 7th Dronfield Scout Group, with an annual donation also made to the Dronfield Mayor’s charity.
