Back In Buchlyvie In 2025
Scenic early season 10K returns to Stirlingshire in January...
Head to Stirlingshire in the new year for the beautiful Buchlyvie 10K which will return on 25 January and will once again provide runners with an early season race that has much to offer.
The 10K trail race has a relatively flat course that uses road and forestry track and boasts beautiful views of Ben Lomond. Beginning behind the primary school runners will then head out onto the old railway track (predominantly firetrack and flat). The halfway turning point is at Barbadoes Cottage which is situated on the old railway track and here runners will be offered jelly babies and water before they return to finish at the school.
Organisers say: "We are a small community and this is our big day, please enter and enjoy it with us. The course has only one hill and often runners manage PB times (weather permitting). There will be no entry on the day this year!"
There will be refreshments and home baking for sale in the hall and all entrants will receive a biscuit, fruit, medal and goodie bag. There will be a prize giving with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female runners. As is the race's tradition there will also be a prize for the final finisher and spot prizes donated by local businesses.
More than 200 entrants in 2024 with Bellahouston Road Runner, Calum Borthwick, winning in 33:16 and Shettleston Harrier, Kirsty Mann, winning in the women's race with a time of 41:01.
