York 10K

Let's Hear It For York!

York comes together for record-breaking 10K event...

The streets of York were alive on Sunday (3 August) as thousands of runners and spectators united for one of Yorkshire’s biggest and most celebrated running events - the Arla Protein York 10K.

From start to finish, the city buzzed with a celebratory atmosphere as participants of all ages and abilities took to the flat and fast 10K course. Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, the event has become a firm fixture in the regional running calendar and continues to draw widespread support across the community.

In addition to the uplifting atmosphere and strong sense of community, the event also delivered some standout performances from the region’s top athletes. Jack Cummings took the men’s title with an impressive time of 31:18, closely followed by Rory Dowd in 32:06 and Adam Theaker in 32:07. In the women’s race, Jemima Elgood stormed to victory in 34:05, with Becky Briggs finishing second in 34:48, and Leila Armoush third in 35:44.

But beyond the fast times and fierce competition, the day was, above all, about fundraising and community impact. Runners collectively raised tens of thousands of pounds for charities across the region, supporting a range of causes close to their hearts.

Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All, reflected on the success of the day: “What an incredible day in York as the Arla Protein York 10K brought together thousands of runners, supporters and volunteers for a truly memorable event and the biggest York 10K to date. The energy on every part of the course was inspiring and it was fantastic to see so many people of all ages and abilities taking part.”

Entries are already open for next year’s event, which returns on 2 August. If you'd like to know more, visit the Run For All website.
