Get on track with new Brighton Marathon app
ASICS – 70 years old and still going strong – supports Brighton Marathon Weekend participants
The Grounded Events Company, organisers of one of the UK’s largest mass participation sporting events, Brighton Marathon Weekend, is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with leading, global running brand ASICS.
ASICS stands for the Latin phrase Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, meaning: “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body.” The company was founded more than 70 years ago by Kihachiro Onitsuka and is now a leading designer and manufacturer of running shoes, as well as other athletic apparel and accessories.
ASICS will become the official Footwear Partner for the 2022 Brighton Marathon Weekend on 8-10 April 2022. All entrants will be given free access to the ASICS Runkeeper Go app, first developed in 2008, which features premium training plans by ASICS running coaches. The app can also be used to set training goals and track progress leading up to the event.
The new partnership will also provide valuable insight and advice on footwear plus online inspiration from members of the ASICS FrontRunner Community: a team of like-minded athletes who are driven to uplift, educate and motivate others – just what's needed to get through the tough times in a marathon.
Tom Naylor, Event Director of Brighton Marathon Weekend, said: "I'm thrilled to welcome ASICS to Brighton Marathon Weekend. As a company, we constantly strive to innovate and develop the ways in which our partnerships can enhance the participant experience. ASICS will undoubtedly help many people achieve their 2022 Brighton Marathon, BM10K, or BM Ride goals next April".
Lucy Greenhalgh, Marketing Director for ASICS UK, added: "It's really exciting to be partnered with Brighton Marathon Weekend. We've always believed in the positive impact of movement on the body and on the mind. It's our founding philosophy and it's never meant more than right now".
