Be Quick To Bag A Spot At Bridgnorth 10K
This 10K may not have PB potential, but it offers a fantastic challenge and striking race t-shirt...
If you're keen on testing your mettle at this year's 'definitely not a PB course' Bridgnorth 10K, then you better be quick as organisers have noted that entries have been coming in thick and fast, indeed they've had to increase the limit to 450 so more people can enter!
This year's race will take place on 22 October and will once again starts from the Grade II listed Town Hall which is also the finish. The Bridgnorth 10K is a ‘must do’ race for any runner with a tour of the town, 676ft of elevation and plenty of support especially at the finish.
A well organised event from Bridgnorth Running Club, it showcases this historic market town which is split into Low Town (lower area on the left bank of the River Severn) and High Town (upper area on the right bank of the River Severn) and both are linked by the Cliff Railway - the oldest funicular railway in England.
Runners will need to get up a head of steam as they tackle the hills, in particular the toughie also known as Railway Street. They’ll be puffing their way up this incline on their way to the finish where spectators clap and cheer them across the line with a medal, t-shirt and goody bag the reward for their hard work.
If you want to make sure you get a race t-shirt in the right size then make haste and enter soon, organisers commented: "After much deliberating with the 10K committee, we have come up with what we think is a winning t-shirt design which I’m confident runners will like and be proud to wear. It’s a colourful, eye-catching design incorporating iconic images of Bridgnorth.
"But with around half the places already taken, we urge people to sign up for the race as soon as possible so they can guarantee their correct size."
