Run Garioch Gears Up For May Return
Popular Inverurie running festival returns...
One of the North East’s most popular running events returns this spring as Run Garioch takes place on Sunday 10 May 2026 in Inverurie.
Based at the Garioch Sports Centre, the event has grown into a true community running festival, offering a range of distances including a half marathon, 10K, 5K and junior races, making it accessible to runners of all ages and abilities.
The half marathon provides the headline challenge, taking runners out into the scenic Garioch countryside on a route known for its gentle climbs and rewarding views. Meanwhile, the 10K combines sections through the town with surrounding countryside, creating a course that is both enjoyable and testing in equal measure.
What sets Run Garioch apart is its strong community feel. From the lively event village filled with food, activities and local support, to the wide range of charity partnerships, the event brings together runners, spectators and volunteers for a day that goes beyond the race itself.
With chip timing, well organised races and a welcoming atmosphere throughout, it has become a firm favourite in the Scottish spring calendar, attracting runners back year after year.
Whether you are taking on the half marathon, stepping up to the 10K or enjoying a first race experience, Run Garioch offers the perfect mix of challenge, scenery and community spirit in the heart of Aberdeenshire.
