Bloom this spring with Always Aim High’s March Virtual Event

Range of distances and elevation to keep people motivated during this month

North Wales-based Always Aim High Events have unveiled their new ‘Spring Into Action’ virtual event that begins, rather appropriately, on 1 March or St David’s Day and continues until 31 March. Participants choose a distance or ascent and track their progress on the leaderboard as they work towards their goal, providing them with a focus as the pandemic continues.

Spring is about renewal, of looking ahead to the future with hope and optimism and never have we needed it more after 11 months of Covid-19. This is the time to start something new, in this case a month-long virtual challenge that supports a local charity in keeping with Always Aim High Events community ethos. For this event 20% of each entry fee is donated to the Snowdonia Society.

Always Aim High Events launched their virtual events series in April 2020 and these have acted as morale boosters particularly in those early days of the pandemic when things seemed bleak. These events have given people reasons to train despite the lockdowns and subsequent restrictions that put racing on hold.

In this March event, participants run, walk, cycle or swim or a combination of these to reach their target mileage/ascent and they can break it down into short distances or if feeling especially brave, complete it in one go.

Whatever the goal, everyone who completes the event will receive a locally sourced, eco-friendly slate coaster. All participants are invited to enter the Spring Into Action Photo Challenge which asks them to take pictures of nature as they run, walk, cycle etc and share these on social media where they have a chance of winning a prize.

Sign up on St David’s Day and be rewarded with a slice of Bara Brith, a popular Welsh treat. For more information and to enter, visit the Always Aim High Events website.
