Fired up and ready for the Bonfire Burn 10K
Only three days to go to this community minded and popular race.
The first week in November means it’s time for the Bonfire Burn 10K (Sunday 6 November) and a flat, multi-terrain course to blaze along for a PB. Runners can expect a friendly, welcoming event with a lively atmosphere and a medal as a reward.
The Bonfire Burn 10K is organised by the Friends of Histon & Impington (HI Friends), a village charity whose aim is to improve health and wellbeing in their community. This race is one of their many activities and is open to people aged 13 upwards of all abilities who enjoy challenging themselves in like-minded company.
Histon & Impington Recreation Ground is the venue for the Race HQ, start and finish. It all ignites at 10.30am where runners, allocated to one of the four start waves, leave the Recreation Ground to follow a route on roads and tracks around the local area. There are two water stations to top up fluid levels.
The race is known for its community spirit and this will be on display as local residents along with the marshals encourage runners as they pass on their way to the finish.
All ages are catered for in the prize list which includes the first male and female overall; first male and female U18, U40, U50 and O60. All finishers receive a themed medal.
Note: the fastest runners (Wave 1) start first at 10.30am followed by Wave 2 at 10.32am, Wave 3 at 10.34am and Wave 4 at 10.36am. This is to avoid any bottlenecks/congestion on the course.
