Run Winchcombe returns on Sunday 30 August 2026, bringing runners to the spectacular surroundings of Sudeley Castle for a family friendly day of trail running in the heart of the Cotswolds. With 10K, 5K and children's 1K races on offer, the event blends beautiful countryside, historic landmarks and a welcoming community atmosphere while raising money for local charities supported by Winchcombe Show.

Starting and finishing within the grounds of Sudeley Castle, the routes make the most of one of Gloucestershire's finest landscapes. The predominantly trail 10K ventures beyond the estate to the ancient Neolithic burial chamber at Belas Knap before returning through rolling Cotswold countryside. The 5K explores the castle grounds, open fields and quiet country lanes before finishing along the castle's impressive main drive.

The event welcomes runners of all abilities, from experienced trail runners to those taking on their first organised race. Younger runners can also enjoy a dedicated 1K event, making Run Winchcombe a genuine day out for the whole family. Every finisher receives a medal, while participants in the 5K and 10K are rewarded with locally produced sausages from Vale and Hill, with vegetarian options available.

Although the event uses manual timing, it has earned an excellent reputation for its friendly organisation and relaxed atmosphere. Free parking at Sudeley Castle, stunning scenery and enthusiastic local support all contribute to an enjoyable race day experience.
