Wining Time
This unique West Yorkshire trail race is back this summer...
Most races you will ever do under 10K will have no feed, water or aid stations on the route, usually if you are lucky water will all be waiting for you at the finish line and possibly a snack... but at RunAble's WineAthlon you can be assured of some very tasty en route tipples!
This year's WineAthlon will take place on 16 July with registration at The Dusty Miller in Huddersfield. The race itself is a scenic 6K trail run with the route taking in some of the area's picturesque countryside.
What sets this trail race apart from others, is that you get to refuel with wine! There will be aid stations approximately every 2K or less that are stocked with wine samples. A spokesperson from RunAble told us: "There are four wine stops, each has a different wine so there are four chances to top up along the route. There's the bar at the end too!"
This unique event is perfect for anyone who loves to stay active and appreciates a good glass of wine. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to taste a variety of wines samples from around the world so whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun new way to experience wine country, the WineAthlon is the perfect event for you.
Fancy dress, although not compulsory is encouraged and the best on the day will be rewarded. All of RunAble's 'athon' events have professional photographers with the photos available to download free of charge within a few hours of your finish.
