It's a 6 hour running challenge; a lapped event with laps of approximately 4.37 miles. You can run as few or as many laps as you wish within the 6 hour limit. All runners, no matter how many laps they have run will receive a bespoke medal (new design for 2025) and a chocolate goody bag.
So, you can run one lap, finish, eat cake and go home or you could run 3 laps for a half marathon distance, 6 for a marathon or see how many laps you can do until the 6 hours is up. This a fabulous event for running with friends and for making new friends.
The event will take place on York's main Knavesmire. The race is named after Dick Turpin, the infamous highway man who was held in York Prison before his trial. The race goes by Tyburn (on the Knavesmire), the very place Dick Turpin met his grizzly end.
The route is mixed terrain of grass and path and is closed to traffic.
