Leeds Marathon Returns For Another Emotional Celebration
Leeds marathon countdown begins...
The countdown is officially on for the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2027, with the popular Yorkshire event returning to the streets of Leeds on Sunday 9 May 2027. Organised by Run For All, the marathon has quickly become one of the UK’s most meaningful mass participation races, combining fundraising, community spirit and a powerful atmosphere across the city.
Following the huge success of this year’s event, which raised an outstanding £14.1 million for charities across the UK, the marathon continues to inspire thousands of runners to take part for causes close to their hearts. The event also remains closely connected to raising awareness and support for people affected by Motor Neurone Disease.
The 2026 edition is believed to have seen the largest participation of people connected to the MND community at a mass participation running event. Runners, spectators and charities came together in a powerful show of support for Kevin Sinfield, Lindsay Burrow and the lasting legacy of Rob Burrow.
The marathon has also established itself as a major fixture on the Yorkshire running calendar, attracting runners of all abilities from across the UK. Whether participants are chasing a PB, taking on a first marathon or fundraising for charity, the race is known for its emotional support and memorable atmosphere throughout Leeds.
Demand for places is expected to be exceptionally high once again following another sell out year. Organisers are encouraging runners hoping to take part in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2027 to secure their entries early through the Run For All website.
