This event is suitable for all abilities across a range of distances, whether you are aiming to complete a track marathon without time pressure, train for an ultra, or simply see how far you can go. It is also a great opportunity to chase a personal best or tick something off your bucket list. Fancy dress is welcome to add to the Halloween atmosphere, but not essential.
The event takes place on a traffic-free athletics track with chip timing, music throughout the day, and the chance to see your supporters each lap. There is a 12-hour option for longer distances and a six-hour option for shorter distances, with start times at 9 am or 3 pm. Facilities include toilets, showers, and changing rooms close to the track, as well as free parking, race photos, and complimentary tea, coffee, and cake for runners.
An aid station is located next to the track, and the clearly defined course means there is no risk of getting lost. All finishers can receive a bespoke medal if selected, and the event is held under an ARC licence.
Participants should arrive around 30 minutes before their start time to collect their race number, attend the briefing, and prepare. The venue opens at 8 am, so please do not arrive earlier for 9 am starts.
Runners of all speeds will be taking part, so overtaking should be done on the right. If walking or using a run-and-walk strategy, please move to the outer lanes. As it gets dark, a head torch will be required, as the track lighting will be turned off to enhance the atmosphere.
Distances are measured by lap count, with each lap being 400 metres, so watch distances may vary depending on the lane used.
