Strathearn Marathon

The Friendly Marathon

With a beautiful setting and welcoming atmosphere this Perthshire marathon is a standout event for runners of all levels...

Runners looking for a scenic and welcoming marathon experience need look no further than the Strathearn Marathon, set to take place on 8 June. Organised by Strathearn Harriers, this event has earned a reputation as one of Scotland’s friendliest marathons offering a stunning route through the Perthshire countryside.

The race sets off from the historic Cultybraggan Camp near Comrie before leading runners through rolling landscapes, past Langside Glen’s heather-clad hills and towards Braco. The course then turns north towards Crieff, passing the Crieff Visitor Centre, before looping along a peaceful country road beside the River Earn, eventually returning to Cultybraggan for the finish.

With official course measurement and London Marathon qualifying status, the race attracts a mix of competitive and recreational runners. Participants will receive refreshments, a race memento and a wide range of prizes are up for grabs too.

As a special memento for their achievement, runners can choose to take home a special Strathearn Marathon Souvenir Mug and Coaster, designed by local artist Catherine McMillan and printed using eco-conscious techniques.

And it is good news for those wishing to make a weekend of it as camping and self-catering accommodation are available at Cultybraggan Camp and nearby Comrie Croft.
