Enter A Smashing Run At The Stanton Gate Crasher

Three distances, one inclusive race in a stunning location and all for charity

Everyone is welcome to the Stanton Gate Crasher on Saturday 13 May in a beautiful part of North Shropshire. Get stuck into a particularly scenic multi-terrain course and be rewarded with a finisher’s medal and the knowledge that you'll be supporting local charity Little Bags of Kindness.

Previously known as the Stanton Stile Hop, this family orientated event with a big heart has been renamed to the Stanton Gate Crasher on account of a change of obstacle. The aforementioned stiles were replaced with gates over the years due to ‘wear and tear’ – hence the new title.

What haven’t changed are the three race options (10K, 5K and a free 2K fun run for children) or the opportunity to explore the North Shropshire countryside via a marked and marshalled course with a tail runner to keep participants going to the end.

The 2K fun run is held on a flat field, on an out and back course. This is free although donations to the event’s chosen charity are much appreciated.

The 5K involves running a loop around Stanton upon Hine Heath village on a mixture of terrain consisting of fields, tracks, lanes and trails. There is a gradual incline to half way before participants make their way back down to the finish. Expect a few gates along the way.

It’s similar for the 10K which is an extension of the 5K route on a variety of surfaces underfoot, e.g. fields, tracks, woodland and country lanes. There are gates too, which is one of several highlights of this race.

Both of the races start and finish in Stanton upon Hine Heath village.

There are prizes for the top three men and women; all finishers receive a medal, bottle of water and bar of chocolate. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and cakes (always a favourite!) are available at the village hall for a small donation.

All profits from this event go to Little Bags of Kindness who provide help where it is most needed.
