Go big at Brigg for the Poppy Appeal
Run, jog or march at this military themed 10K in support of the Royal British Legion.
The Brigg Poppy 10K & Military Challenge will be ready to advance on Sunday 30 October with a fast, flat route, bespoke finishers medal and cake! Participants can race for a PB on this closed road course or wear a loaded rucksack and ‘tab’ in the Military Challenge as they do their bit in support of the Poppy Appeal.
Demand is high for places in this event that sold out in 2021 and with a large waiting list - proof of its popularity with people of all ages and abilities. Capacity has been increased this year with 800 places on a first come first served basis and these have been eagerly snapped up. There is a virtual option for anyone unable to attend on the day.
This is a scenic, friendly event from Curly’s Athletes in the market town of Brigg, North Lincolnshire where the square acts as the start and finish. Organised with precision, the military challenge participants go off first at 9.30am (after being escorted to the front by drummers) to be followed by the 10K runners at 9.45am.
As the out and back course is a fast one the 10K winner is expected to cross the line at 10:17am (estimate). They and the rest of the field will be cheered by spectators in the market place as they finish and the same for the military challengers.
There are trophies for the top three men and women and age category winners in the 10K: trophies for the first male and female in the Military Challenge.
Profits from the sale of the technical t-shirts go to the Royal British Legion who will have a stand on the day. Donations are most welcome!
