Run Durham Hamsterley Remembrance Day brings 10 and 5 mile races to Hamsterley Forest in the Durham Dales. Both traffic free routes start and finish at the Nest Car Park, taking runners into the heart of the forest on varied mixed terrain.
The 10 mile race follows a large loop with steady climbing through the opening section before returning through the forest, while the 5 mile course includes steady climbs around its turning point followed by a largely downhill return. Both accurately measured routes provide a hilly forest running challenge in scenic woodland surroundings.
Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport, with water stations and mile markers positioned around the course. Finishers receive a bespoke medal, while the forest setting provides an atmospheric backdrop for a Remembrance Day running event.
