Everyone’s A Winner

Everyone’s a winner at the Hot Chocolate Kirkharle 10K…

Hot Chocolate's Kennie Simon is famous for singing... 'Everyone's a winner, baby, that's no lie (yes, no lie)' and no truer a word has been said for the upcoming Run Northumberland’s Hot Chocolate Kirkharle 10K which sees entrants rewarded on the finish line with, you guessed it, warm mugs of delicious hot chocolate!

Taking place on 12 December, the event is a wild trail run that takes in the countryside that surrounds the beautiful hamlet of Kirkharle. This is a new event for Kirkharle which is famous for being the birthplace of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown - England's greatest gardener considered the Shakespeare of gardening!

Organiser, Run Nation, is encouraging runners to come along for a brisk winter’s run that is bursting with Christmas spirit and promise: “You may get muddy but you'll enjoy a warm Northumbrian welcome!”

Runners will enjoy a trail route in and around Kirkharle and out towards Bavington, before heading back along farm tracks to Kirkharle. There are plenty of stunning farmland views and pretty countryside in this looped course that is ideal for all ages and abilities. For those looking for a shorter distance there is a 2K event on the same day.

But let's get back to the good stuff, post race hot chocolate is just the ticket on a cold December day and participants will even get to keep their mug as a treasured race memento.
