Robin Hood Half's Charity Bonanza
Robin Hood Half to welcome record number of charity partners in 2025...
The Robin Hood Half Marathon is gearing up for its biggest year yet, with a record 21 charity partners set to join thousands of runners in Nottingham on 28 September. As one of the UK’s longest-running city centre road races, the event has become a fundraising mainstay, with nearly £500,000 raised in 2024 alone.
The half marathon’s 13.1-mile single-lap course begins and ends on Victoria Embankment and takes in some of Nottingham’s most iconic sights. Runners pass by the River Trent, Nottingham Castle, the Robin Hood statue and through the stunning Park Estate and deer-dotted Wollaton Park. Designed for runners of all levels, the traffic-free route combines scenic charm with a few early inclines to keep things interesting.
But while the course itself is a draw, it’s the event’s fundraising power that sets it apart. With 21 incredible causes on board this year, organisers Goldline Events are celebrating the race’s ever-growing impact. Race Director Judith Manson said: “To welcome a record number of charity partners this year is just incredible. It shows how powerful this event has become in uniting people for good. We’ve seen the difference these partnerships make, and in a time where charities are feeling the pinch, we’re proud to be helping to turn the tide.”
Among those lacing up are countless runners with deeply personal motivations. One such story comes from Steve, who will return to the half marathon after recovering from colorectal cancer. After missing out in 2023 and 2024 due to treatment and surgery, 2025 marks a powerful comeback, and for the first time he’ll be running alongside his son.
The best way to fundraise is to use a fundraising website like GoFundMe. This specialist website allows you to set up your own page online where friends and family can donate. It's really easy and it's great to see the progress you are making towards your total.
