The Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon will return on Sunday 10 May 2026, once again uniting thousands of runners, fundraisers and supporters in celebration of the much-loved rugby league legend.
The race begins and ends at AMT Headingley Stadium, the ground where Burrow created countless memories during his Leeds Rhinos career. Since its launch, the marathon has become a symbol of community, resilience and inspiration, attracting participants of all abilities who run, jog, walk or wheel their way around the course.
Runners in the marathon itself will once again tackle a scenic but challenging 26.2-mile route. Starting from Headingley, the course winds through the bustling suburbs of Leeds, out to the market town of Otley, before looping back through the city’s diverse neighbourhoods and countryside.
A highlight of the weekend will be the return of the MND Mile on Saturday 9 May. Introduced in 2025, this moving event provides a dedicated, accessible one-mile route around Leeds Beckett Headingley Campus, giving people of all ages and abilities the chance to take part in the celebrations. The popular relay will also return, offering teams the opportunity to complete the marathon distance together.
Participants are encouraged to fundraise for their chosen charity or for one of the event’s partners, including the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Appeal, the MND Association, Candlelighters, Leeds North and West Foundation, the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, St Gemma’s Hospice and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.
With its combination of athletic challenge and heartfelt tribute, the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2026 promises to be another unforgettable weekend for the city and all who take part.
