New Trail Race For North Yorks
This new trail event is set to be more than just a race - it’s a movement of hope and resilience...
A brand-new trail running challenge is set to take place in the breathtaking North Yorkshire Moors on Saturday, 5 April and there is still time to get involved. Mind Over Moors, a 10K race starting and finishing at the Yorkshire Cycle Hub in Fryupdale, is more than just a test of endurance - it’s a powerful event dedicated to raising funds and awareness for mental health support and suicide prevention.
All proceeds from the event will be going to The Lashes Foundation & Papyrus and the race brings together runners, supporters and businesses united by a common cause. This year’s event is held in memory of Emma Spencer and Honey Cook, two young lives tragically lost to suicide. Their families, along with colleagues from Anglo American’s Woodsmith Project, have come together to support the race and ensure their legacy drives meaningful change.
The route, just shy of 10K, is a scenic circular course with minimal need for navigation, allowing runners to focus on the stunning surroundings. The Yorkshire Cycle Hub will provide a vibrant race-day atmosphere, with food, drinks and a special event menu to welcome participants and supporters.
But what sets this event apart is the unique prize system - every entrant, regardless of finishing position, is automatically entered into a raffle with almost £2,000 worth of prizes up for grabs! Even the final finisher has an equal chance of winning, reinforcing the message that participation and support matter most.
Organisers say: "It’s easy to forget the power of small, consistent acts of kindness and compassion, by focusing on the people and spaces immediately around us, we can create ripples of positive change that extend far beyond what we might imagine."
