Over 75% of places have already been secured for this year's adidas Manchester Marathon which will take place on Sunday 16 April so if you've been swithering over whether this is your year to enter, then make sure you are quick to secure one of the remaining spots at this fantastic Northern challenge. 

The event is a firm favourite with runners of all abilities, ranging from some of the world’s greatest elite runners, to those who thought completing a marathon would never be possible. 

If you'd like to join in and be a part of the day's special atmosphere but feel you are not quite ready for the full 26.2-mile distance then there is a relay entry available enabling runners to split the distance between a team of two or four, giving all team members a taste of the iconic Mancunian support along the route. 

A spokesperson from the event said: "As Europe’s fourth largest marathon we have a very generous capacity, but despite this, thanks to the huge demand to take part in the UK’s flattest marathon, we are heading towards the maximum number of participants. 

"Final places will be available on a first come first served basis, and with some entry types close to selling out, you’ll need to be quick!"
