Let Beast Do Battle

Battle The Beast to support Scotland's mental health...

One of Scotland’s most epic and in-demand obstacle courses has a brand-new Headline Charity Partner for 2025 - SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health). As a result of this partnership the charity is offering free spaces to the event for anyone who would like to ‘Battle the Beast’ in support of Scotland’s mental health.

The Beast Race will take place on 20 September in Banchory. It has fast become one of the most popular outdoor challenges in Scotland and is billed as a thrilling, 10K obstacle course - think ‘Total Wipeout’ meets ‘Takeshi’s Castle.'

Those who take on The Beast Race for SAMH can expect to tackle over 30 adrenaline-fueling obstacles. From speeding down giant water slides and taking a dip in the icy Knockburn Loch, to wading through thick mud, traversing wild hill climbs and navigating challenging swamp crossings - there’s a challenge of every kind.

The Beast Race's Jessica Russell commented: “Our team fervently advocates for the positive connection between physical activity and mental well-being, making this a fantastic partnership. Those who choose to raise funds for SAMH and tackle an epic 10K course with 30+ obstacles will be making a real difference in supporting mental health across Scotland."

Runners can enter the event solo or as a team, with SAMH encouraging anyone who is passionate about mental health and wellbeing to bring their pals together, think of a catchy team name, then sign up for this epic event in support of Scotland’s mental health.

Around since 1923, SAMH are Scotland’s national mental health charity. They operate over 70 services in local communities across Scotland – including mental health social care support, children and young people’s services, peer support, addictions and employment services, amongst many others.
