Humber Coastal Half Marathon offering free ice cream
We all know runners love knowing more than a rewarding treat after a few hard miles and it seems organisers of the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 5K are well aware of this feature with their incentive of a free ice cream and flake for all finishers at next month’s event.
This, of course, is a small reason why the event is already closing in on 2000 entries before race day in just over five weeks (Sunday 16 September). The event, co-ordinated by well regarded organisers Tape 2 Tape, provide fantastic coastal runs in the fabulous seaside resort of Cleethorpes.
The half, which will be accompanied by a 5k for the first time this year, is said to showcase the amazing Humber coastline and shows off the sights, smells and sounds of the great seaside town. Competitors will also enjoy a lovely promenade finish.
Speaking ahead of the race, race director Neil Pattison told runABC North: “We have introduced a 5k race this year and are really excited to see how it works out. I think that the addition of the 5k will attract the parkrunners who come out in force every Saturday in the local region.”
Neil continued: “Combined entries are already around the 2000 mark, which is really pleasing. Medal, tee and a 99 ice cream all seem to be a big attraction for runners and we can’t wait to see everyone on 16 September.”
Entries for the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 5K remain open. Registration is available here.
