New community 10K launches in Banbury this September...
This relates to: Banbury 10K
A brand new event is set to join the Oxfordshire running calendar this September as the inaugural Banbury 10K takes to the streets of the historic market town on Sunday 6 September 2026.
Created to bring the local community together through running, the closed road event welcomes everyone from experienced athletes chasing a personal best to runners taking on their very first 10K. Organisers hope the race will become a lasting fixture in Banbury, building a tradition that celebrates participation, wellbeing and community spirit.
Starting at 10am, the professionally organised event will feature chip timing, live results, clear course signage and supportive marshals throughout the route. Every aspect of race day has been designed to create an enjoyable experience for runners of all abilities while encouraging local residents to line the streets and cheer participants on.
The Banbury 10K is delivered by Raceways, a community interest company with a strong track record of organising inclusive running events that encourage people of all ages to become more active. By taking part, runners will also be supporting local charity partners and community wellbeing projects.
As a completely new event, the Banbury 10K offers the chance to be there from the very beginning. Whether you're aiming for a fast time, completing your first organised race or simply looking to enjoy the atmosphere, this inaugural edition promises to be a memorable addition to the Oxfordshire running calendar.
Every established race starts with a first edition, and the Banbury 10K has all the ingredients to become a popular annual event. With closed roads, a welcoming atmosphere and a strong community focus, runners have the opportunity to help create a brand new tradition for Banbury from day one.
