Little Fi Runs VLM 2020

Wonder Woman’s marathon efforts for Sarcoma UK

Fiona Jenkinson will be running the Virgin Money London Marathon – in her friend’s field in Skipton - dressed as Wonder Woman to fundraise for Sarcoma UK. She has a personal reason for undertaking this challenge...

Known as 'Little Fi' she is on a mission to run every day this year and reach a total of 2020 miles and this challenge included the Virgin Money London Marathon, scheduled for 26 April. Unfortunately this was postponed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic but Little Fi didn’t want her hard work and training to go to waste and decided to run a ‘socially distanced’ marathon but close to home. A friend has kindly offered Fi the use of her family’s field for the occasion.

She is running on behalf of Sarcoma UK – a bone and soft tissue cancer charity who fund important research and treatments for these less well-known forms of cancer. They like many other charities are struggling during this crisis and Little Fi is supporting the work they do. Her friend Rob has terminal cancer, is at high risk of contracting the virus and is currently self-isolating for 12 weeks. Little Fi is running for Rob and many others like him who are dealing with a life-threatening disease.

This Sunday (26 April) Little Fi will run 66 laps in her Wonder Woman costume to complete a marathon and if her fundraising reaches target, she will run a further 13 laps or 50K (31 miles) in total and her first ultra. It will be her longest solo run.

Little Fi is setting up a live stream on the day so friends and family can track her progress.

Donations welcome at her JustGiving page.
